Well after three weeks and no
tires (and after sending the wrong tires the first time) I still
have no tires. I have called 3 times in the last week and
finally called again today and they told me that they don’t have
the tires and will not for some time if ever. Back to square
one. They are going to refund my money, but will take a week or
so. Amazing. I guess I will get on the phone and make some
calls. Motor is coming along every well. Installed the rear seal
yesterday and spent time stripping the paint off the intake and
oil pan before repainting. Should have some pictures next week
of the motor put back together. Hope you have a great weekend,
I’m off to the beach and hopefully a car show this weekend.
Take care Ray

The car was built
in Canada, and I found the strip of paper that was put inside of the
car under the back sheet with the options listed for the car. Had I
called George in Canada before I purchased the car he could have
told me if it was not a true SS before hand. I wished I had found
Team Chevelle web page before I started looking for a car. It has
been very educational. I have no regrets. This still is the only
Shadow Gray car that came with white interior that I know of and
anyone else so far. This car is not being done to be an investment,
but to have for fun and car shows. If it ends up being worth more
some day then that will be just a bonus. Again thanks for the great
job on all the parts you did. They look great on the car.
Had I knew what I now know, I probably
would have not purchased this car or offered a lot less. I’m still
having fun restoring this car. The pocket book is a lot lighter, but I
will finish the car. Attached is the completed frame as of last night.
The rims are out being sand blasted and the tires were ordered
yesterday. Once the rims are painted and tires mounted the frame will be
a roller.

After working on a
Chevelle that I purchased almost 3 years ago that ended up being a 6
cylinder car, I decided that the car would never be the car I had
hope to own and drive to car shows and decided to make a detour on
my current project. I was able to locate another Shadow Gray
Chevelle that was a SS 396, 4 speed car in the local area. The car
had only the frame and body of the car. The previous owner had
already disassembled the car. The car came with most of the parts in
boxes and the body already sand blasted and primed. The original
running gear was already long gone, since the car had been used for
drag racing.

Pictures from the Chevelle ElCamino
Club of Oregon. Unfortunately the weather man predicted an 1/2” of
rain from the remains of the storm that hit Japan last week. It
turned out to be a nice day. We were expecting 200 plus cars from
the pre-restoration form s, and about 120 showed up.
This was our annual car show, we have it to donate money to
Doernbecher Childrens Hospital. We were able to donate over 6000
dollars last year from the club. I still have the magazine setting
on my desk here at work. It’s for sale for 45,000 dollars.

I probably should of said here was my
95 Ford PU, I replaced it with a 2001 Ford PU with only 30,000 miles on it. It was the
only picture I had with the trailer here at
the office. I'll find a picture of the other truck and send some pictures of some of the toys around the house. I
use the trailer for hauling the families
ATV's. The trailer is actually a 26 foot trailer, My son reminded me last night. Nice part about the trailer
it has the heavy duty
axles and can haul 8600 pounds. Although that 95 is
still my favorite truck. |
